Michael Jana is a Lecturer in the Department of Political and Administrative Studies. He joined the Department in 2005. He has also worked as a Seasonal Lecturer at University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa in the Department of Political Studies and in the Development Studies Programme. He has over 10 years experience conducting, coordinating and teaching social research in Southern and West Africa, and the Middle East. His research areas of interest include Political Sociology specifically on legitimacy of state institutions in emerging democracies in Africa; and Social and Behaviour Change.
